I was just informed that this blog had been featured by a group somewhere recently, and I'm ashamed that I've fallen behind on my posting - and on the eve of an election year, no less! Mae Culpe! My deepest apologies!
It's just that IRL demands have competed for my time this year. Even a Progressive Homeschooler has to meet work deadlines, pay the bills and care for family. But the fact that PH is still on the radar somewhere has inspired me to freshen things up a bit - so welcome to the new and improved Progressive Autodidact!
It's hard to keep calling myself a Progressive Homeschooler when I'm not doing any homeschooling these days - but I'm certainly still and always learning, so "autodidact" seems to fit the bill quite nicely. I've also moved most of the civic education and engagement links to their own pages, to clear up the side bar clutter.
And I'd like to invite some guest bloggers to help me keep the progressive home fires burning! If you've got some social justice or civic engagement news, insights, thoughts or ideas you'd like to share with PA readers, please drop me a line at wilinghamster at gmail.com and pitch your contribution.
In the meantime, all the best to you and yours during this gallimaufry of holidays and peace and good will to all - It never hurts to keep wishing for that!
Welcome to the Progressive Autodidact
The Progressive Autodidact (formerly Progressive Homeschooler) explores a broad array of topics of potential interest to progressive, open minded individuals who, like the author when her children were young, may be homeschooling, or like the author today, may not be (because her kids are grown), but who still considers herself a lifelong, self-directed learner in her own right.
The Progressive Autodidact also shares resources and information about issues upon which those interested may take action.
